This isn't currently possible, but we'll certainly add it to our feature request list for future consideration.

Thanks!

Thanks Keith, just to further explain how I'd like to be able to use Log Fusion ideally...

I'd like to have new log entries appear at the top of the list pushing the older entries down which would also eliminate the need for auto-scrolling and since Log Fusion is on my third monitor it would be great if I could have some visual cue prompting me for a user defined number of seconds that new entries appeared...

The way it is now, the tool is not really all that useful to me with entries showing up at the bottom and the auto-scroll turning off on its own when every anything is clicked... The column sorting feature is nice to have but this is essential to make the tool useful to me...

No worries Dean! I've just double-checked, and the Auto-Scroll should only be turning off when you scroll up or down, and not just when clicking a line in the log. Just to double-check, is yours turning off as soon as you left click on a line in the log, without scrolling?

Correct, I click on the auto-scroll button and the blue square is displayed around it. When I click on a log entry the blue square is gone after a few seconds...

EDIT: Observed more closely today and this actually appears not to be related to selecting an item in the list, it appears to be random... the auto-scroll button is apparently randomely deselected although most often several seconds after an item in the list is selected.

Ok, interesting! I'm going to look into this further and I'll keep you posted on what I can find out.

We've just released LogFusion 3.0 Beta 1 (http://www.logfusion.ca/Download/Beta/), and we've added more logging to see if we can find out what's causing your auto-scroll button to turn itself off. Would you be able to do the following?
  • Update to the beta (link above)
  • Open the Settings and enable the debug logging check box
  • Reproduce the issue
  • Send me a copy of the %appdata%\LogFusion\LogFusion.log file
Thanks!

Keith,

Please don't forget the original request - the ability to have the newest log entries at the top. It's very important to me..

Thanks

We haven't forgotten, it's still on our feature request list :)

I've added your info to the ticket as well.

Thanks!

We've just released LogFusion 5.0 Beta 1 (https://www.logfusion.ca/Download/Beta), and you can now sort the logs by any column. This can affect performance, so it's off by default. You can enable it on the Settings > Log Settings tab. After enabling it, just click any column header in the log to sort by that column.

Thanks!
