Giving LogFusion Pro a 30 day trial on large text log files. Have used TextPad with auto-refresh extensively up to now.

LogFusion is looking really good, but there are two missing features that will limit its usefulness for our log file analysis:

Feature 1:

Need to be able to perform standard select and copy on the log contents. Like double-click on a word, then right-click and copy.
Reason: Our log files contain ids and strings that we need to copy and paste into other apps.

Feature 2:

A standard Find or Search command.
Reason: I'm using Highlight and Filter, but I will often need to see what's on the line below the one that's been filtered. For example, if I filter on "Exception" I need to see the exception text that comes on the lines below. At a minimum, if you could let me click on a line to "anchor" it then remove filter, I'd at least be in the same place. Or same with highlight -- if when I show only highlilghted I could then click desired line to anchor it, then show all lines.

Alternatively, a jump to highlighted, like jumping to bookmarks in TextPad. Highlighting is awesome, but if my file contains 100,000 lines and I need to see what's on lines around the highlighted line, my only choice seems to be to page and scoroll and visually looking for the highlighted lines, which is impractical for large log files.

I look forward to hearing if you have any plans/chances to add these features.

Thank you for giving LogFusion a try. :) LogFusion uses a standard list to show the items, which makes it impossible to copy specific text from a line. You have 2 options here: you can copy the entire line (right-click > Copy Selected Rows) or you can view the row and copy the text there (right-click > View Selected Row). As for standard searching, this is planned but I don't have a release date for the feature yet. I hope this information helps. Thanks! :)

Thanks for the reply. The right-click options work great and give me what I'm after for selecting text.

I second the request for a search, it would be very helpful. We love logfusion for monitoring our logs, but whenever we are looking for a specific logged message (and the lines around it) in a big file, it is very difficult. It is a big annoyance for us at the moment.
Also, if the search and filter could support regular expressions, that would be fantastic!

We do still have a Search feature planned, and we're also going to make it so that when the "Only Show Highlighted Items" option is disabled (to show all lines), the log will stay centered on the line that's currently selected.

Thanks!
