The watched folders feature will open folders if the watched folder has a subfolder structure beneath it.
The understanding that i have of the intent of this feature would be to either offer a file filter for the watch folders feature or just ignore folders as opening them as files in windows presents an invalid file for log fusion to work with anyway and the files that were created beneath the first level folder are not detected by the log fusion watched folder process.
I dont know what the names of the subfolders will be as they are timestamp named on generation..but i DO know what the filemask would be of the logs that are generated in mass beneath that that i would like to see opened.
HOw about three features added to the Watched Folders?
1: FileMask (regex) to define the files that are to be opened for a given folder rule
2: Filter folder objects themselves from being opened as files in log fusion
3: Create a checkbox to enable recursion of a watched folder
Now the watched folders feature isnt opening any files. I think this goes back to the secondary feature where recursion of subfolders would occur. Is this still coming for 2.0?
We've just released LogFusion 2.0 Beta 2, which now includes the ability to recurse sub-folders in Watched Folders.
You can also filter the log files that the Watched Folders will open using a RegEx mask.
Thanks!
